A naturist beach at Hengistbury Head in Dorset actually makes an awful lot of sense. To the west, Studland Bay makes up a spit that curls around into Poole Harbour, and to the east of Bournemouth, Calshot Spit does the same to Southampton Water. And approximately halfway in between the two is Hengistbury Head, forming a spit that arcs around towards Mudeford and almost fully enclosing Christhurch Harbour.
Alas, and before anyone gets too carried away, it would seem Hengistbury Head is no longer frequented by naturists. It is abandoned, it would seem.
